Joel Younkins is a local product of the Mahoning Valley. He grew up in Hubbard Ohio and went to High School at Hubbard High. Growing up, he enjoyed playing sports and staying competitive. Football, Basketball, and racing Dirt Bikes were his main sports of interest. In high school, Joel began to focus more and more on Football as he was a 2 Time Team MVP and an All State Football Player. Football earned him a scholarship to play for the Youngstown State Penguins where he started and lettered for the Penguins. In the same time frame, Joel received his Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science and also was a Student Strength & Conditioning Coach for the YSU Olympic Sport Programs. Joel enjoyed working with College Athletes, but his real passion was creating his own facility where he was not limited to who he could train, and how he wanted to train them. JYT started with humble beginnings out of his parents basement in 2010, to eventually becoming a full time training facility in January of 2013. He finds great pleasure in being able to help a young athlete learn and develop their fitness levels, as well as being able to help a professional athlete perform at their high possible potential. And from there, also being able to help adults become in the best shape of their lives as well! |
Joel's style of coaching is very methodical and precise. He uses science and real world application knowledge to train his clients. Although Joel is a motivated person himself, he is not going to be a "in your face" type of coach to get you motivated. Joel believes, you should already be a self motivated person to train at his facility. He is there to coach you and to bring the best out in you. If you're a hard working person and you're looking to take your good to great, then you are probably someone Joel will love working with!
In Joel's time away from coaching, he likes to spend his time with his wife Kelly, son Levi, daughters Lia and Launa, and their dog Lexus! Since Joel's College Football Career, he has competed in Powerlifting as well as racing his dirt bike on the weekends!
