Joel Younkins Training was established in 2013. We cater solely to individuals who are looking for high quality training and coaching. Our programs range from all levels of fitness to provide a huge amount of value.
We offer our clients a wide range of coaching services through strength training, speed training, mobility, conditioning, and nutrition guidance. Our facility is outfitted with word class training equipment which give our clients every opportunity to achieve their goals.
Meet Joel yOUNKINS
Joel Younkins is known for helping show people the way to get the most out of their true potential. His genuine approach to his clients creates great working relationships at the facility. For Joel, being able to coach his clients and train out of his own private facility has been one of the most fulfilling things he has have ever been a part of. And it's hard to believe but there's still so much more he want to achieve...
Joel takes training very seriously and he understands the power of what results in the gym can do to enhance someone's life, whether you're an athlete or training for your own health and passion of training. He prides himself on using real training methods to get real results! He doesn't want to be like the other 99% of gyms or "training programs" that only delivering mediocre results. At JYT he wants to over deliver to all of his clients and bring out the best in people! Hey we only live once, so lets try to be AWESOME while living!
His Mission in life has been committed to help transform 1,000,000 people become their Strongest, Most Evolved, and Most Confident selves they can become. This mission is what fuels his passion and it's the same reason he has committed his life to his purpose. Not only does he envision his clients to surpass all of their fitness goals they set, but he envisions them obtaining the highest level of self confidence and respect for themselves possible.
We could go on about his football career and tell you about being a 2-Time Team MVP in High School, his Collegiate Letters at Youngstown State, and how he earned a degree in Exercise Science, but who really cares about all those things now because that's all in the past. He is on his own journey of evolving, just like you. Hence why he continues to model the same goal setting and strategic planning as he offers his clients...Always onward and upward!
Prepare for success
I've been to "gyms" all over the world. Most of which were just that. At JYT I found three things. 1.) A place where goals are reality through work! 2.) Teamwork helps achieve those goals! 3.) Knowledge (most important), I considered myself an experienced lifter until JYT! Joel has the knowledge to take you to the next level! I learned more at JYT in the six months I was there, then I did at any other gym! And I will carry that knowledge for life!! You won't find that in just a GYM! -Josh Smith
I went to JYT as a student fulfilling a degree requirement. I walked in extremely timid and confused about most things related to Strength & Conditioning. I didn't know how to go from knowing very little, to becoming a successful professional. Joel was very helpful and told me that at one time he was in my shoes as well. He told me that it's ok if I don't know much, but what's important is the willingness to learn. JYT didn't start the day before I walked in. It was built up to what it is now. I didn't see all the hard work that went into it, just the finished product. I am now a client and part of the JYT Family and that's what JYT has taught me, that there is so much glory in the process. After all, it's what leads you to greatness! Joel has been working with me for the last 9 months, and I couldn't be happier with the results and experience. Since attending JYT I've made incredible progress and achieved so many goals. Joel is very caring and attentive to what each client needs, what their limits are, and how far he can push them. He encourages and motivates me to do better, and yet he knows how much I am capable of. Joel continues to push me every week no matter what is going on. When I first started JYT, I was in the midst of occasionally going to a 24/7 gym. I would do some benching and squatting and I would get bored and leave (never putting in a valiant effort). It started with my wife telling me JYT is something I should try out and it sounds like something I would enjoy. She was right, I liked the routine and the written program for the whole month of a 3 days a week, it reminded me of high school lifting. I will say it took me a few months to actually put effort in and start going heavier on the weights. After not really working out and lifting weights for 13 years, I was skeptical of doing heavier weights. I am now almost a year in and lifting weights that I was doing in high school as a teenager. When I started squatting with Joel, I found out I had been squatting wrong my whole life. I now actually enjoy squats! I enjoy looking forward to going to the gym and seeing all of the rewards of being committed to something. One of the things I love about JYT is ,the family environment. Everyone sets goals and everyone always supports one another to achieve them. -Frank McWhirter
I've been struggling with knee problems since the 7th grade and have had multiple surgeries on both of my knees up to 2015. Being in my young 20's, it was very depressing feeling like my life was limited already while all of my friends around my age seemed healthy. I made the commitment that I wasn't going to settle for the being the girl with bad knees and started JYT hoping for some results. I'm proud of myself for taking action on it and just going all in and putting my trust in Joel! After only a couple months of training, my daily knee pain had started to disappear and I could finally actually squat and perform exercises that I was always afraid to do. I feel and look great, I feel confident, and I love the fact that there's so many awesome people who have each others backs here as well! -Keri Durina
I started working with Joel right after my junior baseball season at Ursuline High School. Within one year I put on 40lbs of lean mass and never felt stronger and faster as an athlete. Joel was able to manage my program so that I could both train and compete in my other competition leagues year round. The main reason I came to JYT was to prepare myself long term for college baseball which I have never felt more confident as I do now starting my new college career at Grove City College. -Bobby Dulay
I started going to JYT so I could get back into shape. Fast forward a few months I have already entered a powerlifitng meet (never in a million years did I think that would happen). I now have a sense of being proud of myself for becoming stronger and more confident. Joel is an awesome coach and his whole mindset is what keeps me wanting to push myself further. Honestly, you couldn't find a better person or a better coach. The atmosphere at the gym is awesome, and if you're looking to make progress you definitely are looking at the right place. I’ve been working out at JYT for roughly a year now, and I must say that I am greatly satisfied with my results. Since I’ve been there, I’ve gained over 30 pounds and feel way healthier. I think the best thing that Joel offers in his gym is the environment. Opposed to other gyms, JYT gives you the opportunity to meet people with similar goals and also lets you know one another. It’s much easier to work out in a laid back environment where I don’t feel like I’m being watched the whole time. I started coming to JYT about six months ago, hoping to get my butt off of the couch and moving. It's become so much more than that! I'm getting my health back. I was born early and have cerebral palsy. Ten years of physical therapy did nothing to help, but in the months at JYT the impact has been phenomenal! Joel is helping me correct the limitations of the CP! My balance, strength and dexterity are so much better...not to mention I'm looking great!! It's not just a gym, it's a family where we all support each other and have fun! I may be starting at the very beginning but never once have I felt anything less than positivity and encouragement! I have been training with Joel for a little over a year, and I am extremely pleased with what I have accomplished. Joel has an amazing facility that along with his extensive knowledge of the human body allows you to succeed. However, my favorite part about training with Joel is that you feel like you are a part of a family that pushes you to do your best. Honestly there isn’t anything I dislike about training there. I started at Joel Younkins Training when my previous gym closed. I was very nervous to transition to a new gym, especially since I had very little experience lifting heavy weight. From the second I walked through the door, Joel made me feel right at home and my nerves were gone. Everyone was very welcoming and I quickly learned JYT is so much more than a gym; it's a family. The progress I have made in the past 6 months with Joel is truly amazing. He recognizes that all bodies are different and personalizes your workouts to maximize your results. I cannot say enough about how effective and easy-to-follow his workouts are.
